It’s movie day here at the Georgetoon blog!
If you’ve never seen My Man Godfrey, starring William Powell and Carol Lombard, you’re in for a real treat.
The film was produced in 1936 during Hollywood’s heyday of screwball comedies. It has comedy, warmth, charm, and, most of all, a lot of heart.
And the film fits in with yesterday’s Labor Day holiday due to an underlying story element dealing with unemployment, jobs, etc.
All the actors are top notch and give terrific performances.

After one viewing, you’ll want to make it a part of your home DVD collection. I added it to mine. I just ordered a really neat copy from amazon.com that features the film in gloriously restored black and white and, in addition, a state of the art colorized version.
