As mentioned in the Schapenmelk video, Cold River Soaps’ owner Larry Jones emailed me regarding the care and storage of shaving soaps. Larry Jones from Cold River Soap Works wrote: “I always suggest using a soap within a year of purchase. Much is dependent on storage and usage conditions. My advice is to allow the soap to thoroughly dry between uses and store uncovered in a cool, dry and dark place. “If you are planning on not using a brand new soap for some time, remove from packaging and if it is in a container remove the lid and again, store in a cool, dry and dark place. “These are safeguards and not a guarantee that your soap will remain problem free whether one of ours without preservatives or from another manufacturer even containing preservatives. ” ========
