I recall drawing this strip right before apple season.  It originally ran in early September.  Apple season in the Northeast is a really special time.  And you can’t beat fresh picked apples right from a nearby apple orchard!  I’m not trying to rush summer, but I loved drawing this strip so much, I was anxious to get it posted.
